Alumni Spotlight On:
Taylor Bragg-Brock (MMS '11)
Taylor Bragg-Brock has made quite a splash at DSHA since starting there in the fall of 2011. Academically, she kicked things off by making First Honors every semester last year. As a result of her academic performance, and specifically her top performance in freshman English, she has been invited take a journalism course in her sophomore year instead of mandatory English.
She also excelled outside of the classroom in her freshman year. She was selected to play on the freshman basketball team, she received the “Rookie of the Year” award on her rugby team, and she spent time giving back by volunteering at Luther Manor Home.
Most recently, she was awarded the 2012-2013 Woman of Character scholarship, which is awarded to only one student in each grade level chosen by DSHA faculty and staff. In order to earn this scholarship, Taylor met the following criteria: an enthusiastic learner inside and outside the classroom, a bold explorer willing to go out of her comfort zone, a courageous achiever, and a community builder within DSHA.
Taylor is being noticed in the community as well. She earned the 2012 Milwaukee Brewers Student Achiever award for her academic performance at DSHA. As a result, she received an award certificate, complimentary Brewers tickets, and she had her name listed on the Milwaukee Brewers website.
Taylor is certainly the portrait of what MMS hopes to achieve in every student.
