Kara, a Directress in the Children’s House since 2008, received her Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and mass communication from the UW- Milwaukee in 2005. After graduating, Kara joined the MMS staff as an Administrative Assistant and was quickly impressed with the level of work the students were doing in their classrooms. Her interest in the Montessori philosophy grew when she became an Assistant Teacher in a Montessori classroom in 2005. Soon after, she began Montessori Early Childhood training at the Midwest Montessori Teacher Training Center in Evanston, Illinois. In 2008, Kara completed her Montessori training as well as Orton-Gillingham training to provide multi-sensory literacy instruction to young children.

She has enjoyed leading her own classroom, and sharing in the growth and learning the children experience there each year. In her free time, Kara enjoys biking, hiking, and attending Brewer and Packer games. She is always looking for a good book to read and new restaurants to try in the area. Kara loves to travel, and her favorite place to visit is her grandfather’s childhood home in Switzerland. Kara’s two daughters are also students here at MMS!
