As our nation copes with the coronavirus pandemic, we want to assure you we will continue to assign print and virtual lessons for all Children’s House and Lower Elementary. Upper Elementary and Junior High students will continue to meet with their teachers on their current daily schedule.
You can expect to receive a weekly schedule every Friday along with a packet of consumable materials and specific information about your child’s assignments. We will have some carefully coordinated small-group lessons given through Zoom Meeting (see instructions in the LE letter and schedule) which will allow the children to participate in real-time with their teachers and classmates. Teachers will also provide specific paper and electronic lessons that students may complete at their own pace within the week. Students will also be assigned daily e-learning activities that will be monitored by our faculty using our school subscriptions such as Dreambox, Lexia, Kids Discover, Pebblego, Newslea, Spelling City, and IXL to name a few.
The unprecedented restrictions necessitated by this pandemic have made the jobs of working parents much harder and have shaken students. While we know that nothing replaces the crucial in-person socialization that takes place in our rooms and on our campus, we remain committed and determined to deliver varied and engaging assignments and lessons each week so students will feel more connected and continue to learn and make progress.
