Milwaukee Montessori School

How to Apply

Are you interested in applying to our school? We look forward to meeting you and getting to know your child! These steps will walk you through the process:

We are delighted that you would like to apply to Milwaukee Montessori School. Our admissions process is designed to help you learn more about our school and help us get to know more about you and your child.

Submit An Inquiry Tuition and Fees Indexed Tuition

Step 1: Submit An Inquiry to Begin the Application Process

The first step in the admission process is to submit an inquiry. Cheryl Kelly, our Director of Admission, will reply with program information and a link to your online application. If your child is currently enrolled in another school, please include a copy of the most recent report along with standardized test scores (if applicable). This information will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee and Cheryl will follow up with you.

Step 2: Visit Our Campus For A Parent Tour

If the Admissions Committee feels that MMS may be a good fit for your child, you will be contacted to schedule a Parent Tour of the school. Tours are offered on regular school days Monday through Friday, either at 8:30, 9:15, or 10:00 am, and are personalized so we can answer questions specific to your child and family.

During the summer months, we do not run our full Elementary program, and opportunities to observe these programs are limited. Please contact our Admission Director, Cheryl Kelly, to find the best time to observe the program you are interested in.

Step 3: Schedule A Student Visit

After the parent-only tour, we require all applicants to have a student visit in an effort to assess a good fit. Visits are based on the age of the child:

  • Toddlers spend 10-15 minutes in a Toddler Classroom, where your child is welcomed to join in activities and lessons with other children.
  • K3 – K5 children visit a classroom for 30 minutes with our Director of Admission to engage in age-appropriate learning activities.
  • Students entering first through eighth grades will spend a full academic day with their peers. Classroom teachers and student ambassadors guide children through the day’s lessons and activities, and at some point during the day, each child will sit with a teacher to engage in lessons in mathematics, reading, and writing composition.

Next Steps

Once the Student Visit is completed, the Admissions Committee will make an enrollment determination within two school days and contact you to inform you of that decision. If the committee decides to offer enrollment and there is availability, an enrollment contract will be sent to you. If enrollment is offered but we do not have availability, the application will be added to the 'accepted wait pool' and we'll contact you as soon as we have a seat for your child.

The Admissions Committee will notify you in writing if at any point in the process the school decides to deny the application.

If you have questions about the admissions process, please contact our Director of Admission, Cheryl Kelly, admissions@milwaukee-montessori.org, or call 414-259-0370 ext.106.

Group Tours

These 20-minute tours offer prospective families the opportunity to tour Milwaukee Montessori School, as part of a larger group, at no cost.

The tours provide a snapshot of our school including the Toddler, Preschool, Kindergarten, Elementary, and Junior High programs, allowing families to learn a little bit more about us and to get a sense of our school culture.

It’s important to know that attending a Group Tour is not part of the 3 step admission process. The first step of the admission process is to submit the online application. Upon receipt of your application and application fee, our Director of Admission will contact you to schedule your private parent tour.

Parents tell us that the Group Tour helped them decide to start the admission process right away. And they fill up quickly, so RSVP for yours today!
