Milwaukee Montessori School
Cregan Burst

“The Montessori education I received helped prepare me for the academic and personal challenges I would go on to face during high school. I was nervous going into high school, but found my footing with the help of a few classmates that also attended Marquette, and falling back to the teachings I learned at MMS on making friends, being respectful, and communicating well with others. I was able to form strong friendships with my high school friends, which I have to thank MMS for.”

Cregan Berst, a 2015 graduate of Milwaukee Montessori School continued his education at Marquette University High School, graduating in 2019. Since then, Cregan has pursued his passion for education with a focus on social studies, graduating with an undergraduate degree from UW-Madison in 2024. Cregan returned to MMS’ in 2024 to complete his 50 hours of classroom observation by immersing himself back into the captivating world of Mr. Riggs’ history and English classes. We are thrilled to have Mr. Berst coach our Cross Country team for the 2024 school year!

Despite his busy schedule, Cregan finds time to coach basketball, travel and explore new places, attend concerts, and indulge in his love for spike ball. Cregan is also a dedicated fan of sports and loves to cheer on his favorite Wisconsin teams. Reflecting on his time at MMS, Cregan fondly recalls the numerous school trips, especially those to Nature's Classroom and Camp Minikani. He takes pride in having attended all six trips to Nature's Classroom, even the "freezing winter trips"! One standout, cherished classroom memory for Cregan is the 8th-grade election game hosted by Mr. Riggs. Activities like these fostered Cregan’s desire to teach social studies.
