George Ubell '20

George Ubell, a 2020 graduate, continued his academic journey at Marquette High School. George was awarded merit scholarships for his academic excellence and continues to pursue his interests in history, geopolitics, debate, and world languages. George states that these unique passions were developed in Junior High "entirely due to Mr. Riggs' influence".

In just his first year at Marquette, George successfully completed an AP and Honors class, participated on the First-Year Volleyball team, competed in Alpine Ski Racing, was a quarterfinalist in the Wisconsin State Debate Tournament, and competed on the Marquette Debate team at the national level. Along with being MUHS’ Debate Captain from 2022-2024 and MUHS Model UN President from 2023-2024, George completed a rigorous seven-week residential program for high school students at Harvard where he earned “A” grades in two graduate-level courses.

George graduated as Valedictorian from Marquette University High School in 2024. Before enrolling at Harvard University in 2025, he plans to spend a year exploring Europe.
