Mariah Braddock '10

“The individualized and independent education style definitely taught me how to take charge of my own life and advocate for myself. At MMS, I developed leadership qualities that have stuck with me throughout the rest of my education and career. MMS also fostered an environment where helping others was at the forefront of our education and developed my passion for the arts. All of these features have led me to where I am today.”

Mariah Braddock, a 2010 MMS alumna, went on to Divine Savior Holy Angels High School where she graduated in 2014. From there, Mariah studied at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design where she graduated in 2018 with a BFA in Graphic Design. The last name Braddock may be familiar to you - Mariah was the first of three Braddocks to attend MMS!

Even after her graduation in 2010, Mariah could not stay away from MMS. One of her first jobs was in the 3-year-old classroom working with young students for several summers during MMS’ summer program. As Mariah moved on to college, she left the MMS classroom for several internships in graphic design for a wide range of companies including Great Lakes Hemophilia Foundation, Paris Presents: Beauty Products, Olson House, and Kohl’s Corporate. All of Mariah’s internships cultivated her love for charity and non-profit work and inspired her to start her own company, “Her. LLC” in 2018. “Her” is a clothing company dedicated to women’s empowerment and supporting women in need.

After working on her own company full-time for a year, Mariah decided to explore other opportunities and accepted a job as a Junior Graphic Designer for Lands’ End, followed by a Graphic Designer position with CMRIgnite, one of the nation’s leading minority-owned social impact and cause marketing agencies. After just one year with CMRIgnite, Mariah was promoted to Senior Graphic Designer. Mariah is so proud of the work she does and is thankful that she can apply her passion for the arts every day to inspire positive social change and support nonprofits nationwide.

“The lifelong friends and family I made while at MMS have impacted me the most. My best friends from MMS are my biggest support system to this day and the connections we still have with other MMS alums is amazing. I have a huge network of people who are doing such inspiring things with their lives which constantly gives me the upper hand in my career and personal life. There have been so many times where an MMS connection has helped me, and also times when I’m able to send my MMS connections opportunities as well.”
