Nate Scheurell '11

Nate Scheurell graduated from Milwaukee Montessori School in 2011 and went on to attend Pius XI where he graduated in 2015. After graduating Pius, Nate began working as a professional musician as well as a painter with MDL Painting and Contracting, owned by his brother and fellow MMS alum, Max Scheurell (’09). Nate began teaching at MMS in 2021 and is thrilled to continue bolstering the music department.

MMS is one of the first spaces that fostered Nate’s love for music. Nate took guitar lessons from Allen Cote and fondly recalls performing in the annual Junior High talent shows. Reflecting back, Nate appreciates the freedom he received throughout his education to pursue his interests. One of Nate’s favorite MMS assignments was a technology project where he filmed and produced his own music video. Now that he is a teacher, Nate strives to provide students with equal amounts of freedom and pushes them to explore their interests.

Nate actively performs in the Milwaukee music scene. When Nate is not performing or teaching, he loves hanging out with friends and playing chess.
