Milwaukee Montessori School
Rebecca Messnick '12

“MMS impacted my studies and how I view myself and the environment around me. I felt so prepared to go on to high school and further education. I knew how to stay organized, manage my time, and how to work to my strengths and advocate for myself when needed.”

Throughout her time at MMS, Rebecca was involved in a variety of activities - from the state-winning robotics team to all things singing and music. Rebecca Messnick graduated from MMS in 2012 and went on to Pius XI where she graduated in 2016. From there, Rebecca earned her undergraduate degree from Hope College with a double major in Psychology and Spanish in a speedy 3.5 years! In 2022, Rebecca received a Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mount Mary University.

On top of her studies, in May of 2022 Rebecca began working as a clinician at a private practice internship site in Brookfield where she works with a diverse population of clientele offering mental health services. Rebecca was quickly promoted to working full time! Rebecca has also worked as a family room coordinator with the Ronald McDonald House Charity and as a bilingual care coordinator through Lutheran Social Services in Waukesha County. During her free time, Rebecca enjoys traveling as well as playing the guitar, ukulele, and singing.

When recounting her MMS days, Rebecca says that Nature’s Classroom holds a special place in her heart. The hands-on, experiential learning combined with the multitude of close-knit relationships she made during these retreats have had a lasting impact on how she views the world and interacts with others.

“MMS helped me become comfortable with the unknown and thinking of creative solutions. This is so valuable for my career, because no two clients are the same, and I have to approach each situation and person creatively and with an open-mind.”

We are so proud of Rebecca as she begins her dream career as a mental health professional. Rebecca’s ardent passion for offering support and helping others makes her perfect for this line of work.
