This year, Milwaukee Montessori School Junior High students, under the instruction of Mr. Ian Anastas, won the most awards of any year in the school's history AND more awards than every middle school in the state combined!
For the fourth year in a row, MMS received the most awards among any other Middle School in Wisconsin out of thousands of entries with 17 Scholastic Art Awards. This State Scholastic Art contest is offered to 7-12 graders. Also, Milwaukee Montessori School also has the youngest accumulative winners in the entire State. Below is a list of winners.

Art students from Milwaukee Montessori School received 14 Scholastic Art Awards! Students received these prestigious awards for their work in photography, sculpture, digital art, ceramics and drawing. Milwaukee Montessori School was the only school in the state to have 7th graders receive any Scholastic Art Awards.

This competition is the regional section of The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards national program. Our school received more awards than any other middle school in the state! Their artworks ranging from painting, pottery, photography, digital art and printmaking.

Their artworks ranging from painting, pottery, photography, digital art and printmaking.
Every year the Wisconsin State Fair welcomes state schools to participate in their Youth Art Exhibit which takes place during the Wisconsin State Fair. Schools from around the state entered over 300 artworks which will all be on display but only a few are awarded for their outstanding craftsmanship and creativity. Ten 1st place Blue Ribbons are awarded for the middle school category within the state. Milwaukee Montessori School Junior High students snagged 2 of those. Work will be on display August 6-16 at the Wisconsin State Fair.
