Milwaukee Montessori School
Brittany Mays '05

Brittany Mays graduated from MMS in 2005 and went on to Divine Savior Holy Angels. Post high school, Brittany earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from Xavier University ('13) and her MD from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2017. In 2021, Brittany completed her 3-year Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency in Miami where she was elected as the Chief Resident for the 2020-2021 academic year. Following her residency, Dr. Mays completed a 1-year Headache Medicine fellowship at Mass General Brigham/Harvard where she was the first physiatry-trained headache medicine fellow in the program’s history. Brittany is now an Assistant Professor of Neurology and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Even after her 2005 graduation, Brittany has experienced several MMS connections such as the everlasting friendship with Dr. Fred Rosa-Jones and the opportunity to work with the world-renowned Dr. Elizabeth Loder (our very own Mrs. Lizz Loder’s sister-in-law). Brittany continues to combine her passion for medicine with her passion for social justice by encouraging people of color to enter into the field of medicine. Dr. Mays says the wide array of cultural experiences and the diverse MMS community continues to be a foundation for her inquiry and practice.
