Dr. Kayme Henkel

Dr. Henkel has degrees in piano performance and pedagogy from University of Central Missouri, Kent State University and the UW-Madison. She has presented and performed as a soloist, pedagogue and collaborative musician throughout the United States and Canada. In addition to teaching at MMS, she also teaches at Atonement Lutheran School and has a private studio in Brookfield and is the accompanist for the Lutheran Chorale of Milwaukee. Before moving to the Milwaukee area, she performed with Opera for the Young (Madison), Crested Butte Opera (Colorado), Washington Opera Theater and Bel Cantanti Opera (both in Washington DC). Kayme has always felt strongly that everyone should have the opportunity to learn music and has been happy to find a teaching home at MMS where music is an important part of the curriculum.

When not teaching, Kayme enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. They love exploring national parks, hiking and camping.
